The configure script should check for all these libs, but nevertheless here is
a list of the dependencies.

Requirements:

- libgtkmm, libglibmm >= 2.4

- SDL >= 1.2.0	 (used for sound)
	to be found at http://www.libsdl.org

- SDL_mixer >= 1.2.6 (used for sound)
    there should be a link on the sdl home page

- expat
    an XML parser to be found under http://expat.sf.net.

- libtar >= 1.2.11
    a library for managing tar files.  Found at: http://www.feep.net/libtar

- libsigc++ >= 2.0
	to be found at http://libsigc.sf.net

- pkg-config
    Should be distributed with the Linux distribution. Required for detecting
    the libsigc++-package and -flags

- GNU gettext 
    Should be distributed with the Linux distribution.

- Gnet Library libgnet >= 2.0


on Ubuntu 9.10, (Karmic Koala) you need the following packages:
