  20 <a href="https://garage.maemo.org/projects/cilux/">Cilux</a> is a U-Web "Exchange": a
  21 peer for the <a href="http://the-u-web.org/">U-Web</a> Mobile 2.0 platform. It is
  22 targeted at mobile devices such as MIDs.

  26 <h3>The U-Web</h3>

  28 The <a href="http://the-u-web.org/">U-Web</a> is an interactive mashup ecosystem for
  29 people, media, times and places.

  31 It's an ambitious project to create an open distributed platform for seamlessly and
  32 intuitively sharing, mashing and updating people and their right-here, right-now mobile
  33 stuff.

  35 People in phonebooks and on Facebook. Stuff like photos off the mobile camera and photos
  36 on Flickr; personal messages, public Twitter updates; meetup times and map locations.
  37 Identities, videos, reviews, comments, news, statuses, calendars and current GPS are
  38 merged and tracked as they change.

  40 The U-Web will magically shuffle and combine all this dynamic, interactive data around
  41 for you, according to the permissions you set.

  45 <h3>The U-Web and the World Wide Web</h3>

  47 The U-Web has parallels (and considerable compatibility) with the Web:

  49 Like the Web, the U-Web has an open protocol and notation, meaning that all the above
  50 functionality can be implemented by many separate groups of developers - no-one will own
  51 the U-Web - or have to do all the work themselves! It will allow anyone to join in and
  52 offer interactive content - an unlimited ecosystem of mashups. The protocol and notation
  53 are for peer-to-peer multicast data rather than the Web's client-server documents.

  55 The U-Web application is like a browser, except it's a two-way interactive and dynamic
  56 data viewer meant for mashups and having both 2D and 3D as a native render. It will have
  57 a tactile, intuitive interface optimised for people, media, times and places. In the
  58 U-Web, you, as a user of this application, are a first class entity, visible to others.
  59 The application will have access to all your machine capabilities such as PIM data,
  60 Media, GPS coordinates, accelerometer, vibration, telephony and camera.

  66 Cilux will mash up these on- and off-device people, media, times and places in a single,
  67 seamless interface - with one map and one calendar.
